These may be one of the most delicious things I've ever put in my mouth.
This recipe is from my sister in law's sister (I think the syrup is, too - is that right, Kayla?)
Try them. You won't be sorry.
3/4 t. yeast
3 c. flour
1 1/2 T sugar
3/4 t. salt
3 c. milk
12 T. melted and cooled butter
3/4 t. vanilla
3 eggs separated
Before bed, combine dry ingredients and stir in milk, then butter, and vanilla.
Cover with plastic wrap and set aside overnight at room temp.
In the morning, separate eggs and stir in yolks.
Beat whites til soft peak.
Stir in gently into batter.
Syrup:
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. sugar
BOIL
Stir in
1/2 t. vanilla
1 t. baking soda
ooooh interesting. A yeast batter for waffles!
